Suzi Marks, owner of Mindful Movement in Highland Park, IL is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their fullest potential and to improve the quality of their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual lives. She is passionate about helping infants, babies, children and adults move beyond labels, beyond limitations and discover endless possibilities.

Her success as a movement specialist and coach has come from her years of study of Feldenkrais® and The Anat Baniel MethodSM. She has learned that feeling better comes from a few key elements. These elements are, movement done with attention, the awareness of how we move, and the subtlety and slowness of the movement. In a given lesson a client is presented with many variations of the original movement. Each variation builds on the previous, this provides us with the opportunity to feel more and sense the differences each time a new variation is added.

Suzi began her professional career in movement and exercise in 1994, specializing in post-rehabilitation for adults with chronic and acute pain of the spine, both before and after surgery. She was certified in Pilates by PhysicalMind Institute in 1994 and Polestar in 2001. Her appreciation of movement and her quest to teach people to move better with less pain, brought her to study Gyrotonic® in 1999, earning her Gyrotonic® certification in 2002. Concurrently, Suzi studied and then received her Level One Certification in CranioSacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute in 2001.

Suzi was certified in Feldenkrais® and in The Anat Baniel MethodSM in 2003, The Anat Baniel Method for ChildrenSM in 2003 and The Anat Baniel Method for Anti-Aging and VitalitySM in 2004.

As a co-founder of Movement Education (1999-2009), a Pilates teacher training certification program, Suzi helped develop and teach their Pilates curriculum in both the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Their innovative ideas and instruction on how to move functionally through the bones of the body, changed the way traditional Pilates and exercise was taught both in fitness clubs and in Physical Therapy.

Suzi has been part of the Anat Baniel MethodSM teaching staff for 4 years, and is currently a trainer in the Anat Baniel MethodSM Professional Training Program, as well as a sought after practitioner. Some of Suziís clients travel from around the country to work with her here in the Chicago area.
